Shunt trips are components that can be used to disconnect electrical power from a circuit in the event of an emergency. Trip units are the electronic devices within a circuit breaker that are responsible for detecting an overload and tripping the breaker to disconnect the power. Undervoltage release (UVR) units are devices that are used to automatically reclose a circuit breaker after a power failure.
