Soft Starters

Soft Starters

A soft starter is an electronic device that is used to gradually ramp up the voltage applied to an induction motor, in order to reduce the inrush current and mechanical stress on the motor and its drive train during startup. Unlike a conventional motor starter, which applies full voltage to the motor as soon as it is turned on, a soft starter uses advanced electronics to control the voltage applied to the motor over a period of time, typically a few seconds.
