Auxiliary contacts are additional contacts that are added to electrical devices, such as circuit breakers, to provide additional functions, such as remote signaling or status indication. Shunt trips are components that can be used to disconnect electrical power from a circuit in the event of an emergency. Trip units are the electronic devices within a circuit breaker that are responsible for detecting an overload and tripping the breaker to disconnect the power. Undervoltage release (UVR) units are devices that are used to automatically reclose a circuit breaker after a power failure.
